Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner Renewal

Clinical pharmacist practitioners must renew their approval to practice annually within 30 days of their birthday. Failure to renew may cause the CPP approval to lapse. You may not provide drug therapy management without an active approval to practice as a CPP.

The Board sends a renewal notice, as a courtesy, by first class mail to CPPs approximately two months before their birthday. CPPs may request to have this notice sent via email. The notice contains the CPP’s File ID#, which is required to renew online. If you lose your File ID# you may recover it by clicking the button at right. After logging in to the renewal system, CPPs will be prompted to answer a series of questions and required to provide certain information. The renewal fee is paid by VISA, Mastercard or Discover at the end of the process.

The fee to renew approval to practice as a CPP is $50.

Each CPP shall earn 35 hours of practice-relevant continuing education each year approved by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Documentation of these hours shall be kept at the CPP practice site and made available for inspection by agents of the Medical Board or Pharmacy Board.
